Abstract
A portable cooling apparatus or air conditioner is disclosed herein. The apparatus has a case defining an interior volume. The interior volume contains a cooling substance such as cold water or ice, an intake port, and an exit port. A pathway is defined between the intake port and the exit port for air to pass through the case. The pathway may be defined by a pipe. Alternatively the cooling substance may be contained within one or more containers insertable into the case and that define a pathway between the sides of the containers. A fan with a power source is provided to drive air through the case and pathway. The air is cooled by heat transfer with the cooling substance.
Claims20
A cooling apparatus comprising:
- a case having walls defining an interior volume, a removable cover, an intake port disposed through the walls or cover, and an exit port disposed through the walls or cover;
- a plurality of containers configured to receive a cooling substance and disposed in the interior volume of the case and adjacent to each other to define one or more gap between the containers with the one or more gaps forming one or more paths between an area proximate to the intake port and an area proximate to the exit port;
- a fan configured to blow air through the intake port, the one or more paths, and the exit port;
- and
- a power source for the fan.
A cooling apparatus comprising:
- a case having walls defining an interior volume, a removable cover, an intake port disposed through the walls or cover, and an exit port disposed through the walls or cover;
- a plurality of containers configured to receive a cooling substance and disposed in the interior volume of the case and adjacent to each other to define one or more gap between the containers with the one or more gaps forming one or more paths between an area proximate to the intake port and an area proximate to the exit port;
- a flexible exit hose in fluid communication with the exit port;
- a fan configured to blow air through the intake port, the one or more paths, the exit port, and the exit hose;
- and
- a power source for the fan.
A cooling apparatus comprising:
- a case having walls defining an interior volume, a removable cover, an intake port disposed through the walls or cover, and an exit port disposed through the walls or cover;
- a plurality of containers configured to receive a cooling substance and disposed in the interior volume of the case and adjacent to each other to define one or more gap between the containers with the one or more gaps forming one or more paths between an area proximate to the intake port and an area proximate to the exit port;
- a fan configured to blow air through the intake port, the one or more paths, and the exit port;
- and
- a power source for the fan,
- wherein the cooling apparatus is configured to attach to a stroller.
