Abstract
An optical element or a lighting element assembly including an optical element, can include a first portion of transmittance and a second portion of transmittance, wherein the second portion of transmittance encircles the first portion of transmittance, and wherein the first portion of transmittance and the second portion of transmittance defines at least one dissimilar color characteristic.

An optical element comprising:
- a first portion of transmittance;
- and
- a second portion of transmittance, wherein the second portion of transmittance encircles the first portion of transmittance;
- wherein the first portion of transmittance and the second portion of transmittance each define at least one color characteristic that is dissimilar between the first portion of transmittance and the second portion of transmittance.
