A layered apparatus for defrosting a vehicle light includes a heating element, a cover, and an attachment mechanism. The heating element and the cover are coplanar and the attachment mechanism is configured to attach the heating element and the cover to the vehicle light. The layered apparatus may further include an insulant. When present, the insulant has an insulant external surface, and an insulant internal surface. Additionally when present, the insulant is coplanar with the heating element and the cover. The layered apparatus may further include a top. When present, the top has a top external surface, and a top internal surface. Additionally when present, the top is coplanar with the heating element, the cover, and when present, the insulant.
