Abstract
A portable illumination system includes a power source and an imaging disruption assembly. The imaging disruption assembly includes a first narrow-band light source capable of generating a first high intensity light beam (HILB), a second narrow-band light source capable of generating a second HILB, and a light modifying assembly configured to modify the first and second HILBs to produce at least a first and second Modified HILB. At least one HILB does not include a laser beam. Each Modified HILB has the requisite irradiance to cause disruption of an imaging system. The first and second Modified HILBs are pulsed in a preprogrammed sequence characterized by a first pulse profile and a second pulse profile, respectively.

A multifunction portable illumination system comprising:
- a power source;
- and
- an imaging disruption assembly comprising a first narrow-band light source capable of generating a first high intensity light beam (HILB), a second narrow-band light source capable of generating a second HILB, and a light modifying assembly configured to modify the first and second HILB to produce at least a first and second Modified HILB;
- wherein at least one HILB does not include a laser beam,
- wherein each Modified HILB has the requisite irradiance to cause disruption of an imaging system, and
- wherein the first and second Modified HILBs are pulsed in a preprogrammed sequence characterized by a first pulse profile and a second pulse profile, respectively.
