Abstract
Provide a ball joint manufacturing method capable of achieving both improvement of detachment strength and torque reduction while reducing man-hours and cost. A swaged part is formed by deforming a portion of an intermediary body by swaging that houses a bearing sheet and a ball part therein to configure a housing holding the bearing sheet where the ball part is rotatably held. A heat treatment is performed on a region including at least a portion of the swaged part by applying laser to an outer side part of the housing.

A ball joint manufacturing method of manufacturing a ball joint comprising a metallic housing having an opening part, a bearing sheet made of synthetic resin housed in the housing, and a ball part rotatably held by the bearing sheet, wherein
- a swaged part is formed by deforming a portion of an intermediary body by swaging that houses the bearing sheet and the ball part therein to configure the housing holding the bearing sheet where the ball part is rotatably held, and
- a heat treatment is performed on a region including at least a portion of the swaged part by applying laser to an outer side part of the housing.
