Abstract
A pneumatic control device, in particular a positioner, for controlling a controlled variable to a setpoint value while providing at least one pneumatic control signal. The control device is designed to perform a sliding-mode control with a sliding variable, and, as part of the sliding-mode control, to calculate an actuation signal for actuating a valve device on the basis of a product of an amplification factor and a sign function applied to the sliding variable, in order to provide the at least one pneumatic actuation signal with the valve device.
