A cross tie for use in a concrete form having at least a first sidewall to define a cavity configured to receive a flowable material for solidification to form a structure, the first sidewall having an inner surface facing the cavity, the cross tie comprising:
- a first end configured for removable connection to the first sidewall, the first end comprising:
- a first securement plate and a second securement plate located vertically below the first securement plate;
- a first spacer having a first distal side configured to abut the inner surface of the first sidewall;
- a first stem connected to the first securement plate and the first spacer to connect the first securement plate to the first spacer, wherein the first spacer is configured to be removable from the first securement plate by fracturing at the first stem;
- a second spacer having a second distal side configured to abut the inner surface of the first sidewall;
- a second stem connected to the second securement plate and the second spacer to connect the second securement plate to the second spacer, wherein the second spacer is configured to be removable from the second securement plate by fracturing at the second stem;
- a first receiving chamber located inward from the first securement plate and having a first open side, wherein the first receiving chamber is configured to receive a first nut therein by insertion of the first nut through the first open side, the first receiving chamber further having a first engagement surface configured to engage the first nut within the first receiving chamber to resist rotation of the first nut;
- a first passage extending from a distal end of the first spacer, through the first spacer and the first stem, and further extending through the first securement plate and the first end of the cross tie to the first receiving chamber, wherein the first passage is configured to receive a first fastener therethrough to engage the first nut within the first receiving chamber to removably connect the cross tie to the first sidewall;
- a second receiving chamber located inward from the second securement plate and having a second open side, wherein the second receiving chamber is configured to receive a second nut therein by insertion of the second nut through the second open side, the second receiving chamber further having a second engagement surface configured to engage the second nut within the second receiving chamber to resist rotation of the second nut;
- and
- a second passage extending from a distal end of the second spacer, through the second spacer and the second stem, and further extending through the second securement plate and the first end of the cross tie to the second receiving chamber, wherein the second passage is configured to receive a second fastener therethrough to engage the second nut within the second receiving chamber to removably connect the cross tie to the first sidewall;
- a second end opposite to the first end;
- a first branch extending laterally between the first end and the second end;
- a second branch extending laterally between the first end and the second end;
- and
- a plurality of bridges extending vertically between the first branch and the second branch.
