Abstract
A modular safety rail comprises a guide channel configured to mount to a vertical support of the scaffold and a side panel that connects to the guide channel. The guide channel includes a first set of receivers extending from a first side of the guide channel and a second set of receivers extending from a second side of the guide channels opposite the first side. The side panel is configured to connect with both the first set of receivers and the second set of receivers. Including multiple sets of receivers on the guide channel allows any number of side panels to be connected end-to-end with a guide channel between each adjacent pair of side panels.
Claims5
A modular safety rail for use with a multi-function scaffold comprising:
- a guide channel configured to mount to a vertical support of the scaffold, the guide channel including a first set of receivers extending from a first side of the guide channel and a second set of receivers extending from a second side of the guide channel opposite the first side;
- and
- a side panel configured to connect with both the first set of receivers and the second set of receivers.
A scaffold comprising:
- first and second ladder frames, each ladder frame comprising two vertical supports connected by two or more cross members;
- an adjustable height platform configured to be supported between the first and second ladder frames;
- a first guide channel configured to slidably mount to one of the vertical supports of the ladder frames, the first guide channel including a first set of receivers extending from a first side of the guide channel and a second set of receivers extending from a second side of the guide channel opposite the first side;
- a second guide channel configured to slidably mount to one of the vertical supports of the ladder frames, the second guide channel including a first set of receivers extending from a first side of the guide channel and a second set of receivers extending from a second side of the guide channel opposite the first side;
- a side panel extending between the first and second guide channels so as to engage the first set of receivers on one guide channel and the second set of receivers on the other guide channel.
A scaffold comprising:
- first and second ladder frames, each ladder frame comprising two vertical supports connected by two or more cross members;
- an adjustable height platform configured to be supported between the first and second ladder frames;
- a guard rail system surrounding the platform and including:
- at least two corner posts configured to connect with the vertical supports of the ladder frames;
- a first guide channel configured to slidably mount to one of the vertical posts of the guard rail system, the first guide channel including a first set of receivers extending from a first side of the guide channel and a second set of receivers extending from a second side of the guide channel opposite the first side;
- a second guide channel configured to slidably mount to one of the vertical posts of the guard rail system, the second guide channel including a first set of receivers extending from a first side of the guide channel and a second set of receivers extending from a second side of the guide channel opposite the first side;
- a side panel extending between the first and second guide channels so as to engage the first set of receivers on one guide channel and the second set of receivers on the other guide channel.
