Division wall block, division wall assembly for a coke oven, method of constructing the same

A division wall base block for a coke oven, comprising:

• a body having a front face, a rear face, a first side face, a second side face, a top face and a bottom face;
• a first side extension extending from the first side face, the first side extension bounded by the front, rear, and bottom faces, the first side extension forming a first ledge on a top edge thereof proximate to and spaced apart from the top face;
• a second side extension extending from the second side face, the second side extension bounded by the front, rear, and bottom faces, the second side extension forming a second ledge on a top edge thereof proximate to and spaced apart from the top face;
• a first groove disposed within the top face of the body, the first groove extending between the front and rear faces;
• and, a second groove disposed within the top face of the body, the second groove extending between the front and rear faces.

A division wall assembly for a coke oven, comprising:

• a division wall base block, comprising:
• a body having a top face, a bottom face, a first side face and a second side face;
• a first ledge formed as a notch within the first side face and the top face;
• a second ledge formed as a notch within the second side face and the top face;
• and,
• a division wall vertical block, the vertical block comprising:
• a body having a top face, a bottom face;
• a first side face and a second side face.
