Bracket for drop ceiling mounting brace

A mounting assembly for connecting an electrical box to a mounting brace, the mounting assembly comprising:

• a first bracket including:
• a first foot that extends in a first direction,
• a first channel spaced apart from the first foot, and
• a first tab extending in an opposite direction from the first foot, the first tab oriented in a second direction substantially parallel to the first direction;
• wherein the first foot of the first bracket is configured to be received within a first mounting opening of the electrical box;
• a second bracket including:
• a second foot that extends in a third direction,
• a second channel spaced apart from the second foot, and
• a second tab extending in an opposite direction from the second foot, the second tab oriented in a fourth direction substantially parallel to the second foot;
• wherein the second foot of the second bracket is configured to be received within the first mounting opening;
• wherein the first foot of the first bracket and the second foot of the second bracket are configured to support a weight of the electrical box;
• wherein the first tab of the first bracket is configured to contact a first rail of the mounting brace and the second tab of the second bracket is configured to contact a second rail of the mounting brace, the first tab of the first bracket is configured to sandwich the first rail between the first bracket and the electrical box with a first force, and the second tab of the second bracket is configured to sandwich the second rail between the second bracket and the electrical box with a second force;
• wherein the first channel and the second channel are configured to receive the mounting brace.

A mounting assembly for connecting an electrical box to a mounting brace, the mounting assembly comprising:

• a first bracket including:
• a body portion having a first end, a second end, and a first channel disposed between the first end and the second end and extending along a first channel axis, wherein a first foot extends from the first end and a second foot extends from the second end, each substantially perpendicular to the first channel axis, and
• a first tab extending from the body in an opposite direction from the first and second feet, the first tab oriented in a first direction substantially perpendicular to the first channel axis;
• wherein the first foot of the first bracket is configured to be received within a first mounting opening of the electrical box and wherein the second foot of the first bracket is configured to be received within a second mounting opening of the electrical box;
• a second bracket including:
• a body portion having a first end, a second end, and a second channel disposed between the first end and the second end and extending along a second channel axis, wherein a first foot extends from the first end and a second foot extends from the second end, each substantially perpendicular to the second channel axis;
• a first tab extending from the body in an opposite direction from the first and second feet, the first tab oriented in a first direction substantially perpendicular to the second channel axis;
• wherein the first foot of the second bracket is configured to be received within the first mounting opening and wherein the second foot of the second bracket is configured to be received within the second mounting opening;
• wherein the first and second feet of the first bracket and the first and second feet of the second bracket are configured to support a weight of the electrical box;
• and
• wherein the first tab of the first bracket is configured to contact a first rail of the mounting brace and the first tab of the second bracket is configured to contact a second rail of the mounting brace, the first tab of the first bracket is configured to sandwich the first rail between the first bracket and the electrical box with a first force, and the first tab of the second bracket is configured to sandwich the second rail between the second bracket and the electrical box with a second force.
