An expandable building assembly is provided, the building assembly comprising a fixed assembly and a moveable assembly, the moveable assembly being moveable relative to the fixed assembly between a stowed position and a deployed position, the moveable assembly comprising: a wall assembly comprising a first wall member and a second wall member, each of the first and second wall members being moveable between the stowed position and the deployed position; a floor assembly comprising a floor member, the floor member being moveable between the stowed position and the deployed position, the floor member having a first side edge and a second side edge on a side of the floor member opposite the first side edge; wherein, with the first and second wall members and the floor member being in the stowed position, the floor member is moveable from the stowed position only once both the first and second wall members have been moved from the stowed position; and wherein, when the wall members and the floor member are in the deployed position, each of the first and second wall members covers a respective one of the first and second edges of the floor member, such that the floor member extends between the first and second wall members.
An expandable building assembly, the building assembly comprising a fixed assembly and a moveable assembly, the moveable assembly being moveable relative to the fixed assembly between a stowed position and a deployed position, the moveable assembly comprising:
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein with the moveable assembly in the stowed position, the building assembly has external dimensions conforming to those of a standard shipping container.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein at least one of the first and second wall members is oriented substantially vertically in the stowed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the first and second wall members overlie one another, in part or fully, when in the stowed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein one or both of the first and second wall wall members extend substantially vertically in the deployed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein, in the deployed position, the first and second wall members extend on opposite sides of the moveable assembly to form opposing side walls of the moveable assembly.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein one or both of the first and second wall members is arranged to rotate from the stowed position to the deployed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein one or both of the first and second wall members comprises a plurality of wall panels.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, further comprising a third wall member, which forms an end wall member in the deployed position, the third wall member moving together with one or both of the first and second wall members between the stowed position and the deployed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the floor member is oriented substantially vertically in the stowed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the floor member is oriented substantially horizontally in the deployed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the floor member is arranged to rotate between the stowed position and the deployed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the floor member comprises a plurality of floor panels.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the floor member is only moveable from the stowed position and able to assume the deployed position once the first and second wall members are in their deployed positions.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the first and second wall members and the floor member are arranged in the stowed position such that the first and second wall members must be moved out of the stowed position first, after which the floor member may be moved from its stowed position.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the lower edge portion of each of the first and second wall members is provided with one or more sealing members to form a seal with the floor member.
The expandable building assembly according to any preceding claim, wherein the moveable assembly comprises a roof assembly.
