Abstract

A faucet having instant hot and filtered fluid functionality. A faucet may include a body, a handle couplable to the body and including at least one safety feature, a fluid outlet couplable to the body, and a valve having an inlet and first and second outlets. The valve may be configured to receive fluid from a filtered fluid supply through the inlet. The valve may be further configured to transfer fluid from the inlet to the fluid outlet through a first outlet. The valve may be further configured to transfer filtered fluid from the inlet to a temperature unit through a second outlet. The fluid outlet may be configured to receive heated filtered fluid from the temperature unit. The safety feature(s) of the handle may be implemented to enable or disable operation of the temperature unit. Filtered cold and heated fluids may be provided from a single faucet system.

Dependent claims

A faucet, comprising:

a body;
a handle coupled to the body, and including a safety feature;
a fluid outlet coupled to the body via a spout;
and
a valve comprising an inlet to receive fluid from a fluid supply, and a pair of outlets,
wherein the faucet is operable in a deactivated mode to transfer fluid from the inlet to the fluid outlet through a first of the pair of outlets, and an activated mode to transfer fluid from the inlet to a temperature unit through a second of the pair of outlets, wherein the fluid outlet is configured to receive heated fluid from the temperature unit,
wherein the safety feature of the handle is operable to enable operation of the faucet in the activated mode to deliver heated fluid.
