Abstract

A vacuum coating system for processing a band-type substrate includes first and second modules, each having a module housing with at least one substrate inlet and/or at least one substrate outlet. A substrate transportation unit is disposed in one of the module housings, and a substrate treatment unit is disposed in the other module housing. At least one of the substrate transportation unit and the substrate treatment unit is interchangeably arranged to be installable in either the first or second module housing. Alternatively or additionally, the first and second modules are interchangeably connectable to one another via at least one of the respective substrate inlets and at least one of the respective substrate outlets. The modular and interchangeable configuration permits flexible assembly, reconfiguration, and maintenance of the vacuum coating line while enabling continuous transport and treatment of the band-type substrate under vacuum conditions.

A vacuum coating system for coating a band-type substrate, the vacuum coating system comprising:

a first module comprising a first module housing, the first module housing comprising at least one of a first substrate inlet and a first substrate outlet,
a second module comprising a second module housing, the second module housing comprising at least one of a second substrate inlet and a second substrate outlet,
a substrate transportation unit provided in one of the first module housing and the second module housing and
a substrate treatment unit provided in the other one of the first module housing and the second module housing,
wherein at least one of the substrate transportation unit and the substrate treatment unit is interchangeably arranged in one of the first module housing and the second module housing, or
wherein the first module and the second module are interchangeably connectable via at least one of the first and second substrate inlets and at least one of the first and second substrate outlets, respectively.
