A galvanized steel sheet has a steel microstructure containing, in terms of area fraction, ferrite: less than 50%, a total of martensite and bainite: 50% or more, and retained austenite: 10% or less, 75% or more of martensite having carbide with an average grain size of 50 nm to 200 nm, a ratio TM1/TM2 of an area fraction TM1 of tempered martensite to the entire microstructure in a region from the surface to ⅛ of the sheet thickness to an area fraction TM2 of the tempered martensite to the entire microstructure in a region from ⅛ to ⅜ of the sheet thickness being 0.70 or more, and has a galvanized layer on the surface thereof. The steel sheet has a TS of 980 MPa to 1470 MPa, a yield ratio of 0.60 or more, and an amount of diffusible hydrogen of 0.45 ppm by mass or less.
