A composition for promoting the expression of one or more styrylpyrones and/or chalcones in a cell, wherein the composition comprises:
- a) one or more first vector components encoding one or more enzymes present in the styrylpyrone or flavokavain pathway;
- and
- b) one or more second vector components encoding one or more transcription factors present in the flavonoid pathway.
