Abstract
A driveline lubricating composition for electric or hybrid-electric motor systems including a phosphorus antiwear additive and a multi-functional oil-soluble organolmolybdenum friction modifier to provide friction modification and low copper leaching.
Claims17
A driveline lubricating composition for electric or hybrid-electric vehicles, the driveline lubricating composition comprising
- one or more base oils of lubricating viscosity;
- a multi-functional oil-soluble organomolybdenum friction modifier and corrosion inhibitor having one or more ester and/or amide moieties and having about 1 to about 15 weight percent molybdenum;
- a phosphorus antiwear additive providing about 100 ppm or less phosphorus to the driveline lubricating composition;
- and
- wherein the driveline lubricating composition has less than about 300 ppm of total sulfur.
