Abstract
The present disclosure provides a two-component thermoset polyurethane or two-component thermoset polyurethane composition that includes one or more polycaprolactone including (i) one or more unsubstituted or substitute caprolactone monomer, and (ii) an initiator including at least one primary hydroxyl group and at least one secondary hydroxyl group, wherein the polycaprolactone has an average molecular weight of about 240 g/mol to about 10,000 g/mol. The disclosure further provides methods of making the two-component thermoset polyurethane, and using the same.
Claims21
A two-component thermoset polyurethane comprising one or more polycaprolactone comprising (i) one or more unsubstituted or substitute caprolactone monomers, and (ii) an initiator comprising at least one primary hydroxyl group and at least one secondary hydroxyl group, wherein the polycaprolactone has an average molecular weight of about 240 g/mol to about 10,000 g/mol.
A two-component thermoset polyurethane comprising one or more polycaprolactone comprising (i) three caprolactone polymers attached to (ii) an initiator comprising at least one primary hydroxyl group and at least one secondary hydroxyl group, wherein each of the three caprolactone polymers is independently comprising one or more unsubstituted or substitute caprolactone monomers.
A two-component thermoset polyurethane comprising a polycaprolactone composition comprising a polycaprolactone comprising a reaction product of (i) one or more unsubstituted or substitute caprolactone monomer, and (ii) an initiator comprising at least one primary hydroxyl group and at least one secondary hydroxyl group, wherein
- the one or more caprolactone monomer is present in the range of about 5.0 wt % to about 99.0 wt % of the total molecular weight of the polycaprolactone composition,
- the initiator is present in the range of about 1.0 wt % to about 95.0 wt % of the total molecular weight of the polycaprolactone composition, and
- the polycaprolactone has an average molecular weight of about 240 g/mol to about 10,000 g/mol.
