Abstract
A novel fumaric acid ester monomer may yield a resin having high Tβ; a resin. A film may contain such a monomer. Such a fumaric acid ester monomer may have formula (1) wherein R1 is a linear alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a branched alkyl group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms, and R2 is a linear alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a branched alkyl group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms, or a cyclic alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms.

A fumaric acid ester monomer of formula:
- wherein
- R1 is a linear alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a branched alkyl group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms, and
- R2 is a linear alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a branched alkyl group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms, or a cyclic alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms.
A resin, comprising:
- a first residue unit of formula (2):
- wherein
- R1 is a linear alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a branched alkyl group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms, and
- R2 is a linear alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a branched alkyl group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms, or a cyclic alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms.
