Abstract
Disclosed herein are novel antibiotic compositions and methods of making and using the same. The antibiotic may comprise LPXH-targeting compounds.
Claims39
A compound of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof:
- wherein
- X is carbon or nitrogen;
- R1-R5 are each independently hydrogen, hydroxyl, halogen, CF3, C1-C4 alkyl, or substituted C1-C4 alkyl, or absent, wherein substituted C1-C4 alkyl is optionally halogen substituted C1-C4 alkyl;
- and
- Z is hydrogen, an alkylsulfonamide, or a substituted alkylsulfonamide attached to the aryl by either N or S.
A compound of formula (II), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof:
- X is carbon or nitrogen,
- R1-R6 are each independently hydrogen, hydroxyl, halogen, CF3, C1-C4 alkyl, or substituted C1-C4 alkyl, or absent, wherein substituted C1-C4 alkyl is optionally halogen substituted C1-C4 alkyl.

A compound of formula (III), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof:
- wherein
- R is a substituted amide with formula —NHC(O)A;
- and
- A is a substituted aryl.
