Abstract
The invention relates to a resource-saving method for producing alkali-metal-containing cathode active materials, which forgoes the use of additional purified water through the use of condensate water from the precursors. The invention also relates to the purification of the alkali-metal-containing washing water that arises during the production of cathode active material. According to the invention, alkali-metal precursor recovered in the process is fed back to the production process.
Claims16
A method for producing an alkali metal-containing cathode material comprising the steps of:
- a) providing one or more metal compounds;
- b) providing an alkali metal compound;
- c) dehydrating/drying the alkali metal compound and dewatering the one or more metal compounds and/or dehydrating/drying a recovered alkali metal-rich material stream, and using one or more of resulting condensates or a condensate mixture as wash water;
- d) producing a metal oxide lattice and incorporating the alkali metal compound to obtain a CAM (cathode active material) precursor;
- e) washing the CAM precursor obtained from step d) with the wash water from step c), and solid/liquid separation of a washed CAM product.
The method according to claim 216, wherein the wash water from step g) is subjected to a solids separator, wherein the resulting solids-rich concentrate is proportionally mixed with feed and/or solids are mixed with the CAM product.
