Abstract
Disclosed herein is a method for producing a silica sol, including mixing continuously or intermittently a liquid (A) containing an alkaline catalyst, water, and a first organic solvent with a liquid (B) containing at least one of tetramethoxysilane or a condensate thereof, and a second organic solvent, wherein the mixing includes, after formation of silica particles in a mixed liquid, increasing a value of electrical conductivity of the mixed liquid.
Claims9
A method for producing a silica sol, comprising:
- mixing continuously or intermittently a liquid (A) containing an alkaline catalyst, water, and a first organic solvent with a liquid (B) containing at least one of tetramethoxysilane or a condensate thereof, and a second organic solvent, wherein
- the mixing includes, after formation of silica particles in a mixed liquid, increasing a value of electrical conductivity of the mixed liquid.
A silica sol comprising silica particles having an average aspect ratio of 1.50 or more, wherein
- a proportion of the number of silica particles having an aspect ratio of 1.50 or more to the total number of silica particles is 40% or more, and
- a concentration of the silica particles is 4% by mass or more.
