Abstract
A microfluidic device includes a microfluidic channel formed in the microfluidic device and defined by a floor and a ceiling positioned vertically above the floor, wherein the microfluidic channel includes at least one fluid inlet configured to receive a fluid flow and at least one fluid outlet, and wherein at least one of the ceiling and the floor of the microfluidic channel is sloped relative to a horizontal plane.
Claims24
A microfluidic device, comprising:
- a plurality of separate layers fused together
- a microfluidic channel formed in the microfluidic device and extending through the plurality of separate layers, the microfluidic channel comprising:
- a vertical channel that extends vertically through the microfluidic device;
- a horizontal channel extending horizontally through the microfluidic device;
- and
- a curved channel extending between and connecting the vertical channel and the horizontal channel.
A method for fabricating a microfluidic device comprising a sloped microfluidic channel, comprising:
- (a) fabricating a first layer from a first master mold defining a first portion of the microfluidic channel;
- and
- (b) producing the microfluidic device from the first master mold comprising the first layer.
A method for fabricating a microfluidic device comprising a sloped microfluidic channel, comprising:
- (a) fabricating a first layer from one or more master molds defining a first portion of the microfluidic channel by a first fabrication process;
- (b) fabricating a second layer of the one or more master molds defining a second portion of the microfluidic channel by a second fabrication process;
- and
- (c) producing the microfluidic device from the one or more master molds comprising the first layer and the second layer.
