Precision nozzle and process for producing the same

A process for producing a precision nozzle, the precision nozzle comprising a cemented carbide and having a through hole passing through from an inlet to an outlet, the through hole at least containing a tapered hole portion, and the tapered hole portion extending to increase in inner diameter from the outlet as a starting point toward the inlet, the process comprising:

• a compacting step of compression-forming a raw powder using a transfer mold for forming the through hole to give a compact that has a blind hole with an opening corresponding to the inlet,
• a sintering step of sintering the compact to give a sintered compact of the compact,
• an electrical discharge machining step of subjecting the sintered compact to electrical discharge machining using an electrode inserted to the blind hole of the sintered compact, and
• a grinding step of grinding the electrical-discharge-machined sintered compact from a side opposite to the opening, which corresponds to the inlet, to form the outlet.
