Order-picking system, and mehtod for order-picking piece goods

A storage system, comprising:

• a long-term storage in the form of a crate stack storage device for storing a plurality of storage containers, in which piece goods can be stored, wherein the crate stack storage device has at least one storage and retrieval machine capable of retrieving, moving and placing storage containers within the crate stack storage device;
• a downstream conveying system;
• an automated picking device, having a picking location, on which a storage and retrieval machine of the crate stack storage device can place one or more storage containers;
• and
• a processing station that is configured to transfer piece goods supplied by the automated picking device to the downstream conveying system of the storage system;
• wherein the processing station is a filling device for the overhead conveying system;
• wherein the automated picking device has a manipulator device or a robot arm configured to retrieve piece goods from a storage container on the picking location and directly transfer the piece goods to the processing station, or to a belt conveyor of the automated picking device that is connected to the processing station in terms of conveying.
