Storage device comprising an integrated work area in front of the access area

Abstract

The invention relates to a storage device (1) comprising: at least two shelf columns (4) that are located opposite each other with respect to a storage shaft (2); a plurality of storage goods carriers (20) on which storage goods (25) can be placed; and at least one access area (6) which is accessible from outside the storage device through an access opening (42) allowing for the placement of storage goods on a storage goods carrier located in the access area and/or for the removal of storage goods from a storage goods carrier located in the access area, wherein: each shelf column has storage compartments (18) arranged one above the other in each of which two storage goods carriers can be accommodated one behind the other, as seen from the storage shaft; the storage device has a conveyor device (10) for transporting at least one storage goods carrier through the storage shaft between one of the storage compartments and the access area; and the storage device has at least one work area (8) which is accessible from outside the storage device and extends below the storage compartments of a shelf column from a front side (40) of the storage device towards the storage shaft up to the access opening. A storage device according to the invention saves space and allows quick access to the storage goods. At the same time, operation of the storage device is ergonomic.
