Cloud assisted underwater vehicle control

A method, comprising:

• predicting, by one or more processors coupled with memory, using locations of underwater vehicles and a model of a maritime area corresponding to the locations, movements of the underwater vehicles through an aqueous medium;
• generating, by the one or more processors, according to the predicted movements, a control decision for each of the underwater vehicles to submerge in the aqueous medium at a depth for a scheduled duration to travel at the depth;
• transmitting, by the one or more processors, via a communications network to the underwater vehicles, the control decision for each of the underwater vehicles to cause the underwater vehicles to perform an operation;
• receiving, by the one or more processors, via the communications network, responsive to the operation, a measurement made by at least one sensor from at least one of the underwater vehicles;
• and
• updating, by the one or more processors, the model using the measurement from the at least one of the underwater vehicles.

One or more non-transitory storage media storing instructions thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations, comprising:

• predicting, using locations of underwater vehicles and a model of a maritime area corresponding to the locations, movements of the underwater vehicles through an aqueous medium;
• generating, according to the predicted movements, a control decision for each of the underwater vehicles to submerge in the aqueous medium at a depth for a scheduled duration to travel at the depth;
• transmitting, via a communications network to the underwater vehicles, the control decision for each of the underwater vehicles to cause the underwater vehicles to perform an action;
• receiving, via the communications network, responsive to the action, a measurement made by at least one sensor from at least one of the underwater vehicles;
• and
• updating the model using the measurement from the at least one of the underwater vehicles.
