Inflatable carrying case for surfboards

An inflatable carrying case for surfboards comprising:

• a first receptacle and a second receptacle, each including:
• a cover layer consisting of double wall fabric being configured to stiffen when inflated and flexibly collapse when deflated, said cover layer surrounding a bladder space, said cover layer including a panel portion and a perimeter wall portion, said panel portion being inflatable into a flat elongated shape, said perimeter wall portion being inflatable to extend perpendicularly from a perimeter edge of said panel portion;
• a plurality of threads being connected to said cover layer and extending through said bladder space;
• and
• a valve being attached to said cover layer for conducting air into and out of said bladder space for inflation and deflation of said cover layer;
• a mating assembly detachably connecting said first receptacle to said second receptacle in a clamshell manner such that a storage space configured to hold at least one surfboard is formed between said first receptacle and said second receptacle, said mating assembly being attached to and extending along and between said perimeter wall portion of said first receptacle and said perimeter wall portion of said second receptacle;
• wherein said perimeter wall portion includes a first side wall section, a second side wall section, a first end wall section, and a second end wall section;
• wherein each of said first side wall section and said second side wall section is elongated;
• wherein each of said first end wall section and said second end wall section is rounded;
• wherein said mating assembly includes a pair of fabric strips detachably connected by a zipper;
• and
• wherein said zipper is positioned to extend partially over said fabric strips along said first end wall section, said first side wall section, and said second end wall section of said second receptacle such that said second receptacle is pivotably connected to said first receptacle in a clamshell manner by a hinge formed by said fabric strips attached together at said second side wall section of said second receptacle;
• and
• a plurality of cinches being attached to said first side wall section of said first receptacle and said first side wall section of said second receptacle, wherein:
• said fabric strips of said mating assembly are expandable and collapsible such that a height of said storage space is adjustable to different heights;
• each of said cinches is configured to be tightened to pull said first receptacle and said second receptacle toward one another when said fabric strips are not fully expanded;
• and
• each of said cinches is releasable for pivotable movement of said first receptacle away from said second receptacle.
