Abstract
In some aspects, a device associated with a vehicle may detect a driver interaction based on measured torque on a steering column of the vehicle. The device may transition, in connection with detecting the driver interaction, control of the vehicle from an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) feature to a driver by outputting a steering request that transitions from a feature steering request associated with the ADAS feature to a driver steering request. Numerous other aspects are described.
Claims20
A device associated with a vehicle, the device comprising:
- a processing system that includes one or more processors and one or more code-storing memories coupled with the one or more processors, the processing system configured to cause the device to:
- detect a driver interaction based on measured torque on a steering column of the vehicle;
- and
- transition, in connection with detecting the driver interaction, control of the vehicle from an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) feature to a driver by outputting a steering request that transitions from a feature steering request associated with the ADAS feature to a driver steering request.
A method performed by a device associated with a vehicle, comprising:
- detecting a driver interaction based on measured torque on a steering column of the vehicle;
- and
- transitioning, in connection with detecting the driver interaction, control of the vehicle from an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) feature to a driver by outputting a steering request that transitions from a feature steering request associated with the ADAS feature to a driver steering request.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions, the set of instructions comprising:
- one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a device associated with a vehicle, cause the device to:
- detect a driver interaction based on measured torque on a steering column of the vehicle;
- and
- transition, in connection with detecting the driver interaction, control of the vehicle from an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) feature to a driver by outputting a steering request that transitions from a feature steering request associated with the ADAS feature to a driver steering request.
