Abstract
A touch-free laundry bin device is provided and is designed for hospitals and healthcare facilities to ensure hygienic handling of soiled linens while minimizing the risk of injuries and cross-contamination. The device comprises an inner frame attached to an outer frame. A laundry bag with an attachment fastener is secured to the outer frame. The outer frame includes at least one wheel and a handle. All components may further be covered in an antimicrobial coating. A lid of the device is attached to the inner frame via a motorized hinge and is controlled by sensors, such as motion or foot-activated sensors, ensuring hands-free operation. A secondary sensor beneath the lid keeps it open while laundry is being loaded.
