Abstract
An autonomous driving system of a vehicle may engage in autonomous driving of the vehicle, including controlling a steering of the vehicle. While engaged in the autonomous driving of the vehicle, the system may detect, through at least one user input device, an input from a user. The system may detect, with at least one sensor, a position is associated with the user. The system determines that the input from the user and the position associated with the user satisfies a condition. In response to the input and the position associated with the user satisfying the condition, the system disengages the autonomous driving of the vehicle.
Claims20
A method, performed by a controller of a vehicle, comprising:
- engaging in autonomous driving of the vehicle, including controlling a steering of the vehicle;
- while engaged in the autonomous driving of the vehicle,
- detecting, through at least one user input device, an input from a user;
- detecting, with at least one sensor, a position is associated with the user;
- determining that the input from the user and the position associated with the user satisfies a condition;
- and
- in response to the input and the position associated with the user satisfying the condition, disengaging the autonomous driving of the vehicle.
A vehicle, comprising a controller that is configured to perform operations comprising:
- engaging in autonomous driving of the vehicle, including controlling a steering of the vehicle;
- while engaged in the autonomous driving of the vehicle,
- detecting, through at least one user input device, an input from a user;
- detecting, with at least one sensor, a position is associated with the user;
- determining that the input from the user and the position associated with the user satisfies a condition;
- and
- in response to the input and the position associated with the user satisfying the condition, disengaging the autonomous driving of the vehicle.
