Abstract

A vehicle control system includes an acquirer configured to acquire information about a surrounding area of a vehicle, and a parking controller configured to execute parking control of the vehicle based on an acquisition result of the acquirer. The parking controller is configured to execute a first determination process including determination as to whether parking in a prescribed area within the surrounding area is prohibited or restricted, determine whether to start or continue the parking control based on a result of the first determination process, and execute, upon determining to start or continue the parking control, a second determination process at a position closer to a target parking position within the prescribed area than a position at which the first determination process is executed. The second determination process includes determination as to whether parking at the target parking position is prohibited or restricted.
