Abstract

Provided is a control device for a vehicle that is capable of suppressing occurrence of a deceleration failure contrary to an intention of a driver. A control device 1 for a vehicle that includes a motor 15 as a drive source for traveling is capable of changing deceleration force of the vehicle in accordance with a magnitude of a regeneration level of the motor 15 and has a plurality of travel modes in which the regeneration level is changeable by an operation of a driver. The travel modes includes a first travel mode and a second travel mode. When a change takes place from the first travel mode to the second travel mode, the control device sets an initial regeneration level of the second travel mode based on the regeneration level selected in the first travel mode.
