Electromechanical braking system for a motor vehicle and method for operating an electromechanical braking system in a motor vehicle

A method for operating an electromechanical brake system in a motor vehicle, wherein the brake system has at least one input unit, via which a brake demand is transmitted, and at least two brake apparatuses which each comprise a brake actuator with at least one electric actuating motor, wherein the brake apparatuses are each assigned a wheel brake control unit and a wheel speed sensor unit, the method comprising:

• providing, by the associated wheel speed sensor unit of the associated wheel brake control unit, a wheel speed for a respective brake apparatus;
• providing a substitute wheel speed, for the wheel speed which is provided by the associated wheel speed sensor unit, to this wheel brake control unit;
• actuating, by this wheel brake control unit, the brake actuator in normal operation in order to implement the transmitted brake demand, with consideration of the wheel speed which is provided by the associated wheel speed sensor unit;
• and
• actuating, by the wheel brake control unit, the brake actuator with consideration of the provided substitute wheel speed in order to implement the transmitted brake demand in the case of a disruption in relation to the provision of the wheel speed by the associated wheel speed sensor unit.

A brake system for a motor vehicle, comprising:

• at least one input unit for transmitting a brake demand;
• and
• at least two brake apparatuses which are each assigned a wheel speed sensor unit which is configured to provide a wheel speed to the associated brake apparatus;
• wherein the brake apparatuses each comprise a brake actuator which has at least one electric actuating motor;
• wherein the brake apparatuses are each assigned a wheel brake control unit for controlling the respective brake actuator;
• wherein the wheel brake control unit is configured to control the brake actuator with consideration of the wheel speed which is provided by the associated wheel speed sensor unit, and is configured, furthermore, to control the brake actuator with consideration of a substitute wheel speed for the wheel speed which is provided by the associated wheel speed sensor unit.
