Abstract
A vehicle recovery system and method have been developed. The system includes a hitch mount that is configured to extend from a vehicle. The hitch mount has a jack point. The jack point is configured to engage a jack that lifts the vehicle. The hitch mount further has a recovery point in the form of a recovery opening. The recovery point is configured to couple to a recovery accessory, such as a tow strap or cable, that is used to pull or tow the vehicle. The hitch mount has a nose. The nose extends from the hitch mount farther than the rest of the hitch mount. The nose is configured to keep the jack in engagement with the hitch mount during lifting.
