Abstract
A running board for a motor vehicle having a board arranged in a longitudinal direction, and having a holder on which the board is mounted so as to be tiltable about a pivot axis running parallel to the longitudinal direction. The running board also comprises a sensor for detecting tilting. Further, a flap system for a motor vehicle is provided.

A running board for a motor vehicle, the running board comprising:
- a board arranged in a longitudinal direction;
- a holder on which the board is mounted so as to be tiltable about a pivot axis running substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction;
- and
- a sensor for detecting the tilting.
