Energy storage system, method for operating an energy storage system, and use of an energy storage system

An energy storage system, comprising:

• an electrical energy storage device further comprising:
• a first storage unit consisting of high-power cells and a first connection for charging and discharging the high-power cells;
• a second storage unit consisting of high-energy cells and a second connection for charging and discharging the high-energy cells;
• a controllable bidirectional energy transfer unit, connected to the first connection and to the second connection in order to enable energy to be transferred between the first storage unit and the second storage unit;
• a connection device connected to the first connection and intended to charge and discharge the electrical energy storage device;
• a recording device for recording operating parameters of the electrical energy storage device, the operating parameters further comprising:
• at least one state parameter of the high-power cells;
• at least one state parameter of the high-energy cells;
• a control device for controlling the energy transfer unit in accordance with a transfer algorithm that makes provision to control the energy transfer unit in accordance with a transfer strategy as a function of the recorded operating parameters;
• wherein the transfer strategy provides a specification of setpoint values or setpoint value ranges for a charge state of the high-power cells and a charge state of the high-energy cells.
