A vehicle display control method comprising:

• causing a vehicle to perform automated driving selectively in:
• a hands on mode in which a driver of the vehicle needs to grasp a steering wheel of the vehicle;
• and
• a hands off mode in which the driver does not need to grasp the steering wheel;
• displaying, on a display, information regarding a surrounding environment of the vehicle, the information including:
• an icon representing a target object in the surrounding environment of the vehicle;
• and
• an icon representing the vehicle;
• and
• changing a color of a peripheral display region that includes the icon representing the vehicle depending on whether the automated driving is in the hands on mode or the hands off mode.

A non-transitory storage medium storing instructions that are executable by one or more processors and that cause the one or more processors to:

• cause a vehicle to perform automated driving selectively in:
• a hands on mode in which a driver of the vehicle needs to grasp a steering wheel of the vehicle;
• and
• a hands off mode in which the driver does not need to grasp the steering wheel;
• display, on a display, information regarding a surrounding environment of the vehicle, the information including:
• an icon representing a target object in the surrounding environment of the vehicle;
• and
• an icon representing the vehicle;
• and
• change a color of a peripheral display region that includes the icon representing the vehicle depending on whether the automated driving is in the hands on mode or the hands off mode.
