Wheel bearing assembly

A wheel-bearing assembly comprising:

• a wheel hub;
• a wheel bearing arranged at the wheel hub;
• a wheel carrier to which the wheel bearing is fixed by a wheel-bearing outer ring;
• a constant-velocity joint axially clamped to the wheel hub by way of a face-serration assembly;
• and
• a sealing ring that radially surrounds and seals the face-serration assembly,
• wherein the sealing ring is pre-assembled on the constant-velocity joint and, in an assembled state of the wheel-bearing assembly, engages the wheel hub outside a power flow of the wheel bearing, the sealing ring simultaneously providing a non-contact pre-seal for the wheel bearing in cooperation with the wheel carrier.

A wheel-bearing assembly comprising:

• a wheel hub;
• a wheel bearing arranged at the wheel hub;
• a wheel carrier to which the wheel bearing is fixed by a wheel-bearing outer ring and having an annular groove;
• a constant-velocity joint axially clamped to the wheel hub by way of a face-serration assembly;
• and
• a sealing ring that radially surrounds and seals the face-serration assembly,
• wherein the sealing ring comprises a sleeve-shaped first sealing section configured to radially seal the face-serration assembly, a sleeve-shaped second sealing section configured to provide a non-contact pre-seal for the wheel bearing, and a radial web connecting the first and second sealing sections,
• wherein a gap acting as a sealing labyrinth is formed between the sleeve-shaped first sealing section, the sleeve-shaped second sealing section, and the radial web on one side and the annular groove of the wheel carrier on the other side.

A wheel-bearing assembly comprising:

• a wheel hub;
• a wheel bearing arranged at the wheel hub;
• a wheel carrier to which the wheel bearing is fixed by a wheel-bearing outer ring;
• a constant-velocity joint axially clamped to the wheel hub by way of a face-serration assembly including a first face-serration at the wheel hub and a second face-serration at the constant-velocity joint;
• a clamping device configured, in a clamped state, to axially clamp the first and second face-serrations together;
• and
• a sealing ring that radially surrounds and seals the face-serration assembly,
• wherein, in an unclamped state of the clamping device, the sealing ring provides an assembly retainer that loosely holds the first and second face-serrations in engagement such that an axial play between the first and second face-serrations is less than a height of the serration teeth.
