Abstract

A liquid discharge head includes a pressure chamber and a nozzle plate. The pressure chamber stores liquid. The nozzle plate has a nozzle communicating with the pressure chamber. The nozzle plate includes an actuator in the nozzle plate to displace the nozzle plate to discharge the liquid in the pressure chamber from the nozzle in a discharge direction. The nozzle plate also has an outlet having a first cross-sectional area in a plane orthogonal to the discharge direction; an inlet having a second cross-sectional area in the plane; and an intermediate portion between the outlet and the inlet in the discharge direction. The intermediate portion has a maximum cross-sectional area larger than the first cross-sectional area of the outlet and the second cross-sectional area of the inlet in the plane.
