Abstract
A multilayer polymer film comprising an inner biomaterial contact layer and an outer layer, the outer layer comprising a polymer selected from a polyester elastomer copolymer, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a nylon, polyethylene, polypropylene, a thermoplastic elastomer, and copolymers and mixtures thereof, wherein the melting temperature of the inner contact layer and the outer layer differ by 30-120° C.

A multilayer polymer film comprising
- an inner biomaterial contact layer comprising about 70% weight percent of a low density polyethylene,
- an outer layer comprising about 5-10% weight percent of a polyester elastomer copolymer or a mixture of polyester elastomer copolymers having a melt temperature of from about 400-450° F.
- a gas barrier layer interposed between the inner biomaterial contact layer and the outer layer,
- a first tie layer interposed between the inner contact layer and the gas barrier layer, and
- a second tie layer interposed between the gas barrier layer and the outer layer,
- wherein the film has an oxygen transmission rate of less than about 0.5 cc/m2-day-atm at 70° F. under conditions in accordance with ASTM D-1307,
- wherein the film has a tear strength of at least about 8 LbF under conditions in accordance with ASTM D-1004,
- wherein the melting temperature of the inner contact layer and the outer layer differ by 100-120° C.
