Abstract
An optical article is formed by inserting molding and a composite sheet having an optical functional layer and a protective layer into a backup material, without relying on special molding methods such as compression molding or injection compression molding. The optical composite molding is formed by bonding a composite sheet including a first protective layer on a front side, a second protective layer on a back side, and an optical functional layer sandwiched between the two protective layers, with a backup material that supports the composite sheet from the back side. A first thickness of the first protective layer is 0.05 to 0.30 mm. A second thickness of the second protective layer is 0.30 to 0.70 mm.
Claims8
An optical composite molding formed by bonding a composite sheet (10) comprising a first protective layer on a front side, a second protective layer on a back side, and an optical functional layer sandwiched between the first protective layer and the second protective layers, with a backup material that supports the composite sheet from the back side, wherein
- a first thickness of the first protective layer is 0.05 to 0.30 mm, a second thickness of the second protective layer is 0.30 to 0.70 mm, and the second thickness is larger than the first thickness.
A method for producing an optical composite molding comprising:
- placing a composite sheet at a predetermined position (31a) in an inner portion of a mold, wherein the composite sheet comprises a first protective layer on a front side and has a first thickness of 0.05 to 0.30 mm, a second protective layer on a back side and has a second thickness of 0.30 to 0.70 mm, and an optical functional layer sandwiched between the two protective layers, the composite sheet has a total thickness of 0.35 to 1.00 mm, and the second thickness (L2) is larger than the first thickness;
- and
- pouring feedstock of the backup material that supports the composite sheet from the back side into the mold.
