Hemp wood preservative compositions and related methods

Abstract

Embodiments disclosed herein are hemp wood preservative compositions, and related methods. A composition for treating wood includes a methyl ester composition, hemp seed oil (HSO), wax present in an amount of about 10 wt % or less of the composition, and silica present in an amount of about 10 wt % or less of the composition. A method of forming a composition for treating wood includes forming a mixture including wax and a methyl ester composition, mixing hemp seed oil with the mixture including the wax and the methyl ester composition, and mixing silica with at least one of (1) the mixture including the wax and the methyl ester composition, (2) the hemp seed oil, and/or (3) the hemp seed oil with the mixture including the wax and the methyl ester composition.
