Abstract
Systems and methods for laser welding are disclosed. A laser welding system includes a handheld laser welding torch having a nozzle, the nozzle being configured to output a laser beam from the handheld laser welding torch. The handheld laser welding torch is supported by a frame, the frame configured to fix a position and orientation of the nozzle and the handheld laser welding torch with respect to a workpiece during a welding operation. A method of operating the handheld laser welding torch is also provided, such that consistent welds are generated on a standardized workpiece.
Claims16
A laser welding system, comprising:
- a laser welding torch having a nozzle, wherein the nozzle is configured to output a laser beam from the laser welding torch;
- and
- a frame to support the laser welding torch, wherein the frame fixes a position and orientation of the nozzle and the laser welding torch with respect to a workpiece during a welding operation.
A laser welding torch, comprising:
- a nozzle, wherein the nozzle is configured to output a laser beam from the laser welding torch;
- and
- a frame to support the laser welding torch, wherein the frame fixes a position and orientation of the nozzle and the laser welding torch with respect to a workpiece during a welding operation.
