Hybrid setter for investment casting cores and method of using

A setter array for a plurality of investment casting cores, the setter array comprising:

• a base formed from a plurality of individual base sections arranged in a side-by-side pattern;
• and
• a plurality of bottom cover sections each configured to mechanically couple to an associated individual base section and each having a customized upper profile to substantially mate with a lower surface of a respective one of the plurality of investment casting cores;
• wherein the plurality of individual base sections each include a plurality of nubs that project upward, and each of the bottom cover sections include associated holes for receiving the nubs.

A setter array for a plurality of investment casting cores, the setter array comprising:

• a base formed from a plurality of individual base sections arranged in a side-by-side pattern;
• and
• a plurality of bottom cover sections each configured to mechanically couple to an associated individual base section and each having a customized upper profile to substantially mate with a lower surface of a respective one of the plurality of investment casting cores;
• wherein each individual base section further includes a peripheral groove for mechanical coupling to a peripheral edge of an associated bottom cover section.
