The present invention relates to an apparatus (1) for coating a component, in particular a floor element (3), moved in a transport direction with a coating device (5) for applying a coating medium to the floor element (3), with at least one actuator (7) for adjusting a position of the coating device (5) relative to the floor element (3), and with at least one detection device (9) for detecting the coating device (5) and/or the component, in particular the floor element (3).

An apparatus for coating a component, in moved in a transport direction, comprising:
- a coating device for applying a coating medium to the floor element;
- at least one actuator for adjusting a position of the coating device relative to the component, and
- at least one detection device for detecting the coating device;
- wherein the at least one detection device is designed to detect a position of the coating device.
