Abstract

A liquid dispensing robot. The liquid dispensing robot includes a plurality of dispensing modules, each including: an housing defining an inner chamber and an opening, the opening allowing fluid communication between the inner chamber and an environment. Each of the plurality of dispensing modules further includes a dispensing member disposed in the inner chamber adjacent to the opening and an actuating member disposed in the inner chamber, where the actuating member defines an actuation frequency band. Responsive to a control magnetic field with a dispensing frequency within the actuation frequency band, the actuating member deforms to periodically displace the dispensing member relative to the opening to vary a local fluid pressure adjacent to the opening, where each of the actuation frequency band is non-overlapping with one another, and where each of the actuating member of the plurality of dispensing modules is selectively actuatable by the control magnetic field.
