Modular toy construction system with a worm drive element

A modular toy construction system comprising:

• modular toy construction elements, the modular toy construction elements having either first connectors or second connectors, connectable to the first connectors, or both;
• a worm drive element comprising an elongate body having a longitudinal axis and a length of a discrete multiple of the fixed modular distance and a helical track formed along the longitudinal axis of the elongate body;
• and
• a guide element comprising:
• a body having a length, width, and longitudinal direction;
• a worm bearing formed in the body of the guide element;
• a track guide member formed on a concave surface of the worm bearing, the track guide member configured for cooperating with the helical track of the worm drive element,
• wherein the helical track has a pitch of one turn for each four fixed modular distance of the length of the worm drive element.

A worm drive assembly for a modular toy construction system defining a fixed modular distance, the worm drive assembly comprising:

• a worm drive element including an elongate body defining at least one helical track formed along a longitudinal axis, wherein the at least one helical track extends along an entire length of the body to form at least one mouth opening on each end thereof;
• and
• a guide element including a body having a length equal to the fixed modular distance along the longitudinal axis, the body having:
• protruding connectors on a top surface;
• a spacing member to form inward connectors on a bottom surface opposing the top surface;
• and a cylindrical hole extending between opposing sidewall, each sidewall extending between the top and bottom surface, wherein the cylindrical hole includes at least one track guide member projecting radially inward and having a curved leading edge to facilitate insertion into the at least one mouth opening so that upon rotation of the worm drive, the at least one track guide member cams within the at least one helical track to drive the worm element along a longitudinal axis.

A worm drive assembly for a modular toy construction system defining a fixed modular distance, the worm drive assembly comprising:

• a worm drive element including an elongate body having a worm drive length of a discrete multiple of the fixed modular distance along the longitudinal axis, wherein the elongate body defines a helical track formed along the longitudinal axis;
• and
• a guide element including:
• a body forming a worm bearing having a concave surface;
• and a track guide member formed on the concave surface, wherein the track guide member cooperates with the helical track of the worm drive element.
