Abstract
A purpose of the present invention is to provide a novel therapeutic strategy for exudative age-related macular degeneration. It was discovered that choroidal neovascularization can be regressed by targeting a VEGF receptor 2 (VEGFR2) which is highly expressing in a choroidal neovascular, for treatment. Therefore, a therapeutic strategy for exudative age-related macular degeneration which includes administering a conjugate of an anti-VEGFR2 antibody and a photosensitizer to a subject, and irradiating red visible light rays or near-infrared light rays to an eye of the subject is provided.
Claims12
A method for treating exudative age-related macular degeneration for a subject requiring treatment, comprising:
- administering a conjugate of an anti-VEGFR2 antibody and a photosensitizer to the subject;
- and
- irradiating red visible light rays or near-infrared light rays to an eye of the subject.
A pharmaceutical composition for treating exudative age-related macular degeneration, comprising:
- a therapeutically effective amount of a conjugate of an anti-VEGFR2 antibody and a photosensitizer
A use of a therapeutically effective amount of a conjugate of an anti-VEGFR2 antibody and a photosensitizer for manufacturing a pharmaceutical composition for treating exudative age-related macular degeneration.
