Abstract
A guidewire is provided. The guidewire can include a core wire and a pliable hypotube coupled to the core wire. The pliable hypotube can include a plurality of cuts disposed in a helical pattern.

A guidewire comprising:
- a core wire;
- and
- a pliable hypotube coupled to a distal portion of the core wire and disposed around the distal portion of the core wire,
- wherein the pliable hypotube comprises a plurality of cuts disposed in a helical pattern.

- a plurality of cuts disposed in a helical pattern;
