Abstract
Compositions of metal alkoxide-piperinoid complexes that provide for water-soluble and/or dispersible piperine are disclosed. Methods of producing metal alkoxide-piperinoid complexes are disclosed. Methods of treatment using the metal alkoxide-piperinoid complexes are disclosed.

A composition comprising a complex of piperine and/or a metabolite or derivative thereof and an alkali metal alkoxide.
A method of producing a composition comprising a complex of piperine and/or a metabolite or derivative thereof and an alkali metal alkoxide, the method comprising:
- a) generating or dissolving an alkali metal alkoxide in an alcohol to form an alkali metal alkoxide alcohol solution;
- b) dissolving piperine and/or a metabolite or derivative thereof in said alkali metal alkoxide alcohol solution to form a piperine and/or a metabolite or derivative thereof alkali metal alkoxide alcohol solution;
- and
- c) drying said piperine and/or a metabolite or derivative thereof alkali metal alkoxide alcohol solution under anhydrous conditions.
A method of improving athletic performance comprising administering to a subject 1-1000 mg of a composition comprising a complex of piperine and/or a metabolite or derivative thereof and an alkali metal alkoxide.
A method of improving the bioavailability and/or effectiveness of a dietary supplement, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical comprising co-administering to a subject said supplement, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical with a composition comprising a complex of piperine and/or a metabolite or derivative thereof and an alkali metal alkoxide.
